Burton Group currently seeks a Senior Consultant to join our SRMS consulting practice.
Requirements:
  • Direct experience in security governance, architecture, design, and assessment
  • Broad knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Ability to identify how changing technological landscape will impact security design and architecture choices
  • Self-starter, eager to learn about new technologies and willing to keep their finger on the pulse of the changing IT landscape

Director of Technical Architecture

The Director of Technical Architecture is responsible for working with Burton Group’s clientele and Burton Group’s internal resources to sustain, forecast, and build Burton Group Consulting Service (BGCS) consulting sales pipeline, while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction with delivered engagements, consistent with building repeat business and reference accounts.
 The Director of Technical Architecture functions as an industry expert, representing BGCS’ expertise and abilities to clients and prospects by participating in the following activities: Generation of BGCS’ business pipeline Scoping calls, Preparation of Statements of Work (SOW), SOW review with prospects, Project staffing discussions, Project initiation, Participation in project status meetings Quality review and approval of interim project deliverables Final deliverable presentations Post engagement follow-up
Requirements:
  • At least 15 years experience, with expertise in three or more of the following:
    • Requirements Analysis
    • Strategy and architecture development
    • Risk, vulnerability, and event management
    • Risk assessments

    • Client Relationship Management
      • Establish relationships with key client stakeholders
      • Maintain contact and engage in conversations with key client stakeholders about potential projects
      • Review new BG research and consulting materials (brochures, templates, methodologies) with client
    • Client Satisfaction Management
      • Maintain regular client liaison to ensure proper project progress
      • Manage intervention should delivery issues arise
      • Participate in regular reviews of deliverable quality
      • Participate in interim and final deliverable presentation to clients
      • Provide follow-up to ensure client utilization of deliverables and to determine additional opportunities
      • Understand contribution and use of BGCS deliverables by clients

      Client Services Representative

      The CSR is responsible to pro-actively manage assigned Burton Group accounts. The CSR is responsible to monitor assigned accounts’ usage of Burton Group’s research and advisory services and develop plans to increase usage. The CSR is also responsible for notification, registration, and attendance analysis to Burton Group’s technical teleconferences; analyst dialogue submittal and follow-up; support issues related to accessing Burton Group’s web based content; provisioning of new accounts and new contacts; provide assistance with Burton Group’s Catalyst Conference registration. The CSR is expected to work closely with other Burton Group departments to ensure clients’ needs are met
      Requirements:
      • 2-year college degree/certificate or equivalent client services work experience
      • Must demonstrate strong communication skills

      The CCS Analyst is responsible for creating frameworks, research documents, presentations, and blog posts for Burton Group's clientele. The Analyst will work with customers, vendors, industry leaders, and other Burton Group analysts.
      Requirements:
      • At least five years experience researching, writing and presenting in one or more of the following areas:
        • Architecture involving communication, collaboration, content management, or portal systems (including enterprise, logical, and/or physical architecture)
        • Collaboration and content management capabilities of major vendor platforms including Oracle, SAP, IBM Lotus Notes/Domino, Microsoft SharePoint
        • Enterprise content management (including document and imaging management, records management, search, web content management)
        • Enterprise e-mail systems
        • Information architecture (including taxonomies and ontologies)
        • Real-time communications (including instant messaging, presence, Web conferencing)
        • Office productivity tools including document formats (e.g., XML, PDF)
      • Strong research and writing skills
      • Excellent research and writing skills, coupled with the ability to highlight the salient points within a complex problem
      • Excellent presentation skills, including large audiences (100+ people)
