Alice Wang

Alice Wang is a director for Burton Group's consulting service. With over 10 years of experience, Alice has assisted Fortune 500 companies with designing and / or implementing large scale IT projects and authored numerous technical whitepapers. Alice is also ITIL Foundation, JAVA Programmer, and Solaris Systems Administrator certified.

Anthony Randall

Consultant

Anthony Randall is a consultant for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers identity information engineering and infrastructure design (including BSS + OSS), identity management, federation, directories, provisioning, and large scale messaging systems. Prior to joining Burton Group, Anthony worked for Comcast, Sun Microsystems UK, and Axa Insurance and has worked as a consultant with many Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies. As principal engineer at Comcast he was responsible for the directory services design including the integration all portal based applications (such as email, voice messaging, portal preferences, multiple federation partners, instant Messaging, anti-abuse) and the integration design of a cross platform provisioning system from customer order to fulfillment, for over 20 million broadband and voice customers. With over 12 years of experience, Anthony has managed large scale identity, messaging and directory services projects as technical lead.

Bob Smock

Senior Consultant

Robert Smock is a senior consultant for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers identity and access management, security, and risk management. Prior to joining Burton Group, Robert was the Director of Information Technology Security at United Space Alliance, L.L.C. in Houston, Texas. As a NASA contractor, his responsibilities included providing the primary support for the protection of NASA’s ground-based information resources which support the Space Shuttle, Space Station, and Orion mission operations at multiple NASA centers. He also oversaw the risk management and protection of corporate IT assets, and directed the implementation of the enterprise identity management and 2-factor authentication systems for United Space Alliance. Previously, Robert was director of Rockwell Houston Operations Information Security Consulting group. Robert has 27 years of experience with information technology and software development, including the last 17 years in IT security and identity management. Robert is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Computer Fraud Training Center (FLETC). Professional affiliations include the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), the Systems and Network Security (SANS) association, the Computer Security Institute (CSI), the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Dave Muehling

Dave Muehling is a senior consultant for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers identity and access management, directory services, provisioning, authentication, role based access control, and federated identity. Prior to joining Burton Group, Dave was the Enterprise Security Architect - Office of Architecture for Countrywide Financial where he was responsible for the Enterprise Identity and Access Management Architecture. With 16 years of experience, Dave has held enterprise network & security lead engineer and portal architect positions at Go Daddy and Unicon respectively. Dave has participated in multiple OOA/OOD projects in an architecture role and has published case studies relating to object oriented database architecture and application integration methodologies. Dave is also an object oriented application architect, service architect, and network security architect.

Doug Moench

Principal Consultant

Doug Moench is a principal consultant for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers enterprise directory services, identity management, federation, public-key infrastructures (PKI), and web services. Prior to joining Burton Group, Doug worked with enterprise corporations to document current state of business and technology processes making recommendations for infrastructure improvements to simplify administration, increase security, and improve collaboration between business units. With 20 years of experience, Doug has successfully designed and implemented general-purpose directory, meta-directory, access management, provisioning, PKI, and federation solutions for national and international companies, including Fortune 500 companies.

Doug Simmons

Vice President Consulting Services

Doug Simmons is the Vice President for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers e-business and service provider, identity and access management, application data security, provisioning, workflow, authentication, security and risk management, PKI, messaging and collaboration. Prior to joining Burton Group, Doug performed duties as an OSI and TCP/IP software engineer and implementation consultant for IBM. With 25 years of experience, Doug has assisted in hundreds of medium and large-scale customer architect and design detailed identity management infrastructures that include user management, workflows, access management, federation and multiple authentication services. As an early developer of X.500 and LDAP with IBM in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Doug possesses industry-leading skills in identity management design and deployment, data integration and resource provisioning.

Homan Farahmand

Director, Consulting

Homan Farahmand is a director for Burton Group’s consulting services. His primary focus is to assist IT executives and their direct reports in dealing with their dynamic problems and associated business/technical change strategies. With 18 years of experience, Homan has experience helping enterprise organizations develop business technologies to achieve their business performance goals. Homan’s primary focus is currently on assisting global 1000 and public sector organizations to modernize their identity management and security governance, processes, and supporting infrastructure as well as service orientation. He has completed complex strategy development and architecture modernization projects for major financial institutions in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Switzerland over the last few years. Prior to joining Burton Group in 2006, Homan led PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Canada IT cost and value management practice and managed META Group’s strategic consulting practice. Prior to that Homan was an Enterprise Planning and Strategy consultant at GE Capital. He holds an advanced technical expert certificate from IBM, independent consulting certificate from SAP, 6 Sigma Green Belt certification, and ITIL service management certification.

Jack Stackhouse

Director, Consulting

Jack Stackhouse is a director for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers network architecture, remote access, VPNs, wireless technologies, voice services, VoIP and IPv6. Ken Agress

Ken Agress is a senior consultant for Burton Group’s consulting services. He covers network design and architecture, application performance, VPN technologies, wireless networks, network management, IP telephony/VoIP strategy, project management and carrier. Prior to joining Burton Group, Ken gained his experience in the networking industry as a consultant, network manager, systems engineer, and member of technical staffs. Kim May

Kim May is a senior consultant for Burton Group's consulting services. She covers identity management, identity data directories, resource provisioning, Multi-Factor Authentication, PKI, project management, and IT governance. Prior to joining Burton Group, Kim was a Senior Technical Lead and Project Manager for NASA contractor United Space Alliance. At United Space Alliance, Kim led research and implementation projects for enterprise identity and access management as well as enterprise infrastructure and architecture. Her responsibilities also included offering strategic planning and integration management, contributing to the corporate IT strategy. With over 15 years of experience, Kim has an extensive background in enterprise identity management and infrastructure implementations. She is a certified Professional Project Manager (PMP) and holds an approved government background investigation (NACI).
